Finished CBS Gold Draft

Postby Hank » Mon Mar 01, 2010 6:51 pm

Just finished 10 team H2H Points CBS Gold League Draft. 21 Players, 9 batters, 5 SP, 2 RP, and 5 Bench.

First, I have to say, CBS's pre-rankings are so whack, secondly that's why I'm playing! 3-4 teams nearly completely auto-drafted, and with CBS pre-ranks there were some pretty terrible teams drafted. Hopefully, this means I only have to beat out 3-4 teams to take the money! I did this after a friend told me about the team he drafted in one of these random CBS Gold Leagues. Anyway it was the weirdest draft I've ever been in and went like this:

C - Matt Wieters (12)
1B - Mark Teixeira (2)
2B - Ian Stewart (11)
3B - Pablo Sandoval (5)
SS - Alexei Ramirez (14)
OF - Ryan Braun (1)
OF - Matt Holliday (3)
OF - Carl Crawford (4)
U - Grady Sizemore (6)
BN - Alfonso Soriano (19)
BN - Alcides Escobar (17)

SP - Wandy Rodriguez (8)
SP - Jered Weaver (9)
SP - Joe Blanton (13)
SP - Aaron Harang (15)
SP - Johnny Cueto (18)
RP - Joe Nathan (7)
RP - Francisco Rodriguez (10)
BN - Clay Bucholz (20)
BN - Ben Sheets (16)
BN - Aroldis Chapman (21)

Might be light in power, but for some reason in standard CBS points leagues, SB are worth 2 points?! I'm still so bewildered by the draft, not sure what to think.

Wow, finally we found a reason to recommend CBS. That's insane. So people put up money for this league then autodraft? re: your team -- Your pitching's pretty weak. This is a ten team league? You should have at least one pitcher above Wandy and the guys after Wandy are pretty hit or miss. Actually don't mind your hitting. Looks fine to me. I don't see light on power.

If you want me to look at your team, post the team. Don't post a link to another site where the team is.
Have you given me all the info I need to judge your team? The number of teams in the league is a good start for the big overall questions.
Is your league H2H? Roto?
I don't know who's on your waivers. Don't just ask me who you should pick up. Give me names to choose from.
If you only have one team, post your team in your signature with the league parameters.
I don't know every single matchup for next week, so if you want me to choose a player for the following week and you think the matchups are important, tell me who they're facing.
There's more than one player with the same last name? Then spell out who you're talking about.
Thanks!

Yeah pitching is weak, that's where another weird thing happened. One manager, whose team auto-drafted did this:

1. Lincecum
2. Verlander
3. Wainwright
4. Lester
5. Vazquez

It appears this guy pre-ranked so that would happen, either that or CBS is really effed up.

CC went second overall, basically pitching fell of the board real fast, almost before I could realize it, so I decided to zig and take 2 top closers to combat. Maybe I can trade that pitch drafter!
