Re: Streaming Pitching So Far
Steve, you are doing GREAT!
My first three weeks were insane. Then I felt invincible and ran 2 or 3 pitchers a day, anything that had 5 or higher in SON. Had a lot of blowups. Got a grip, and moved up to 10 or better in SON. This required reaching out up to 4 days to grab. The results for the last ten starts from May 16-21:
Average SON=12.3, projected average whip 1.17
15-day average era/whip for the ten before: 2.34/.88
era/whip for the ten starts: 1.71/1.09
5 W, 5 ND (zero L)
average percent owned: 13.1%
(didn't dig out the Ks)
8 Home, 2 Away
SON running strong above 10!

Re: Streaming Pitching So Far
Fred are you going to be able to get to 180 starts only streaming high quality choices? I'm currently holding just two starters so I need to get about 115 starts out of streamers. I am finding I'm having to dig pretty deep. I know your plan was to stream 100% of your starts.

Re: Streaming Pitching So Far
72 starts, 50 different starters. the last 10 quality starts were over 6 days. so, yes, shouldn't be a problem reaching 180. I hit that mark 1st week of september last year.
Haven't held a starter over 2 games. drop as soon as next start not a top-ten SON.
To get those 10 quality in 6 days I did have to reach out up to 4 days on a few. so, not daily streaming, but not holding guys for 10 days when their next start projects poorly, either.
Keep up the great work. Your results will be the ones to beat season's end!!!

Re: Streaming Pitching So Far
ooo good thread!
So far I have 3.81/1.20/60K/5W in 80.1 innings of streamers (13 starts, but we use IP limit rather than starts). I did use Iwakuma 3 times at the beginning of the year though before someone decided to pick him up for good. That helped a lot. Lately I've been getting smoked.

Fred -
Great ERA and solid WHIP so far given you're streaming so much. It's comparable to mine despite the fact I haven't streamed much this year (have had a great drafted quartet in Lee, F-Her, Lynn, and Holland + picked up Masterson for his nice Home start-heavy run).
It looks, though, like your team is facing some W and K challenges. We have comparable W and K totals but I'm only at 52 GS to your 83 GS. I see how you can stock up on 9 MRs when you max out on GS but it still feels like you're running short on those stats.
FYI, I've updated the Standings page so it's a lot easier to compare across teams. Vin doesn't have GS data in his feed so couldn't add that but you can see just about everything else of importance....

Re: Streaming Pitching So Far
couldn't agree more on Ws. a number of 2R (and fewer with ND and L). probably part of the reasons the streamers weren't owned because their teams don't give 'em a lot of run support. The win% has improved a bunch since bumping up to 10+ in SON. Can'T see it improving enough to overcome the poor performers when i was over-confidently running them out there. a constant learning curve.
Moving forward, as long as one sticks to that 10+ from SON, should be pretty solid.
Thanks for bringing clarity FATHER (of SON)!
