Middlebrooks or Reynolds

Postby shin-soochoochoo » Mon Apr 08, 2013 2:04 pm

Someone in my league dropped Middlebrooks.

Use my waiver priority to drop Jarrod Parker for him?

Also on the wire: Mark Reynolds, Cuddyer, JJ Hardy, Torii Hunter, Coco Crisp, Cowgill, Masterson, Iwakuma, Homer Bailey, Jhoulys.

Thanks!

Nah. I was going to say yes but don't drop Parker except I can't see anything better to drop. So I would stay put. You don't need a 3B and you already have a deep bench of bats. I wouldn't drop your only bench starter.

You do have a lot of bats but this question is for others that responded in this thread. Why not drop Henderson for Middlebrooks since he's technically not the closer yet, and then try and flip a solid bat for a solid proven closer?
Yahoo 10 team, h2h, 6x5 (including obp), 7 keepers (Trout, Stanton, Goldshmidt, Rendon, Arenado, Scherzer, Buxton)

1B - Paul Goldschmidt, Prince Fielder
2B - Anthony Rendon, Dustin Pedroia
3B - Nolan Arenado
SS - Danny Santana, Xander Bogaerts
OF - Mike Trout, Giancarlo Stanton, Alex Gordon, Melky Cabrera, Steven Souza

NA - Byron Buxton, Addison Ruessell

SP - Max Scherzer, Mike Fiers, Phil Hughes, Danny Salazar, Francisco Liriano, Taijuan Walker
RP - Jake McGee, Addison Reed

I don't like trading for closers. There just isn't a safe option IMO. Every year we have this kind of craziness and you never really know who is going to get hurt or just blow up.

But it is a good thought especially with how many batters he has. I guess I was assuming that he had a plan with Henderson and his lack of closers and wasn't going that route.

Thanks for all the quick replies!

I'm liking Frazier but I'm willing to wait on RZimm and will send out some trade spitballs. Much obliged.
