Util strategy

Postby BleedingBlue » Sat Mar 17, 2012 1:22 pm

In Yahoo format where you have 3 OF, 2 Util and no MI or 1B/3B is there a strategy for Util? Should the best available person go there or should you have 1 IF and 1 OF? Does it matter?

Best available, but it would be nice to have one UTIL with some flexibility...

If you want me to look at your team, post the team. Don't post a link to another site where the team is.
Have you given me all the info I need to judge your team? The number of teams in the league is a good start for the big overall questions.
Is your league H2H? Roto?
I don't know who's on your waivers. Don't just ask me who you should pick up. Give me names to choose from.
If you only have one team, post your team in your signature with the league parameters.
I don't know every single matchup for next week, so if you want me to choose a player for the following week and you think the matchups are important, tell me who they're facing.
There's more than one player with the same last name? Then spell out who you're talking about.

I always like to have a top tier 1B in the first 2 rounds. Then for my UTL, I usually grab the best batter/producer available around round 9-10. Typically another 1B or OF. If you avoid being locked down to concrete strategy you should be albe to take advatage of the best player available at a time when most teams are trying to fill holes.

My league has 4 OF and 2 UTL and a shallow bench, so I like to keep an extra OF around for off days.
10 Team Head to Head, .5 PPR.
Keep up to two each year for 3 years for a draft pick two rounds higher than last year. Keeper round in ().

QB: Cam Newton
WR: A.J. Green
WR: Jordan Matthews (9)*
WR: Brandon Marshall
RB: C.J. Anderson
RB: Lamar Miller
TE: Julius Thomas
W/R/T: Carlos Hyde (10)*
BN: Phillip Rivers QB
BN: Jonathan Stewart RB
BN: Rashad Jennings RB
BN: DeSean Jackson WR
BN: Marques Colston WR
BN: Markus Wheaton WR
