Just ignore the 'don't jump to any conclusions' part. Like seeing a tentacle in what you thought was a normal anime film, we all know where this is going. Both players still have something to prove this year, but Ian Desmond does not provide the OBP nor the BA to justify staying unless he shows a large improvement. Rendon is the 2B of the future for the Nationals and they have another kid whom they like - Lombardozzi - who could fill in at either. Don't be surprised if Desmond is a mid-season replacement and Espinosa moves over to SS. I'm not prognosticating here, just making owners out there aware.
