Who will put the monster season together?

Postby OaktownSteve » Sun Jan 08, 2012 1:43 am

Here are my nominees for guys who could snififing at the top that won't be drafted #1:

Little Ups aka Justin Upton-looks the most like Matt Kemp
Evan Longoria-Second half was HUGE, 3B a wasteland
Tulo-As good as he's been, has never put together THE year
Cargo-was #1 two years ago
Adrian Gonzalez-to my eyeballs the best swing you'll ever see. Batting title, 100/30/125 a year removed from shoulder surgery a possibility

Your thoughts?

If you want me to look at your team, post the team. Don't post a link to another site where the team is.
Have you given me all the info I need to judge your team? The number of teams in the league is a good start for the big overall questions.
Is your league H2H? Roto?
I don't know who's on your waivers. Don't just ask me who you should pick up. Give me names to choose from.
If you only have one team, post your team in your signature with the league parameters.
I don't know every single matchup for next week, so if you want me to choose a player for the following week and you think the matchups are important, tell me who they're facing.
There's more than one player with the same last name? Then spell out who you're talking about.
Thanks!

Here's hoping it's Upton AND Longoria. Gonzalez-- depends on if the Sox get it back together. If they take a year to find their mojo again, he'll drop off. Then again, Carl Crawford had a down year last year and I expect him to rebound.

so the answer to this one was actually Longoria based on your ranking write ups, Grey. I have spidey sense about Longoria. My post was actually a fishing trip to see if any others felt similarly about him. I'm into the predictive powers of consensus, sometimes. The other players I listed were red herring. He's at the breakout age. The talent is obvious. He's discounted because of a non-chronic injury last year. Maybe Tulo wasn't a red herring...you said what I said. The big season will happen. 162 played and monster numbers. Wish he still ran a little, tho.

I think Upton can have a bigger season than Longoria (30/20 vs. 35/10; the rest equal) but his position eligibility makes Longoria more valuable.
