Hey, has anyone heard from IowaCubs since Iowa came down with a bad flood? Has he been changing his lineup in your RCL league?

Awww... You just made me blush. I bet you thought I was all wet and you wanted to give me a towel and a squeegie. (both hands on cheeks, head tilted toward the side)

No... I live in a relatively high part of Des Moines. The part that was flooded was near the river, though my commute to work is a whole 5 minutes longer than it used to be, which gives me more time to relax to my Hunter S. Thompson books on CD in the car. (the books come with a free year's sample of horse tranquilizers, btw). Yesterday, I took off the afternoon to watch Felix Pie go crazy with that thing he do with his bat at an Iowa Cubs game and set my roster from the game. Pie looked good. Not good enough to add until next year, but as a Cubs fan, it made me believe that they'll at least get a good trading chip for him this year.

In the past few days, I've made a trade, changed my roster to include a shitty outing by Manny Corpas (who is on my team for some reason), and offered trades to people that got back rejection responses such as "LOLOLOL" and "YOU'RE F**** CRAZY" and "EVEN YOUR TRADE OFFERS ARE FLOODED, IOWA!!!" What kindness and compassion!

Colon got reamed tonight.

Colon was an enema of the people.

Colon was half the man he usually is: He was Semi-Colon.

On the upside, he was the only guy on the field swinging harder than Dustin Pedroia.

Stop. Stop right now. Semi-Colon, or ";" as we sometimes call him on this site. I believe that BVV just earned himself a glossary submission.

The Schmohawks pulled Marcus Thames off the waiver wire and he rewarded The Schmoes with two opening day dingers. Woohoo!! We're gonna ride this POS into the ground.

Hey look -- Water is underneath Iowa.

Iowa -- Good to hear you're okay.

Water -- Trade Thames to Iowa for his first rounder. Tell him I said it was a good move for him.

Iowa was saved from the flood by the fiery-haired Matty Murton just before he was called up. Iowa's tears caused the waters to rise. The second coming was here.

There's a guy over at bleedcubbieblue.com who does these. You should see the one with Soto riding a horse through flames...
