Big Jgke,

I think you are getting WAY to Confusius on us. I kinda like the idea of the league with real salaries and a cap that is $104 mil. (I wouldn't say that is the median, I would say that is least 10% higher).

This is a cool idea for league Ace. Send me some more details.

Back to you Jgke and Beer bottle baby guy. The cap appears to challenge the owner to makes decisions based on money and knowledge toward youth and veterans. If the cap is $104, it appears you could have AROD, but you are going to be limited elsewhere in a big way.

So basically what you guys are saying is "if I can't have AROD, I don't want to play!". Then don't have a cap, then take away the challenge of players salaries, then sign up for some generic league on ESPN that has some guy that wears tinted glasses indoors and another guy who won't move out of his mother's basement.

Ace, intriguing league. Hope you don't make these guys mad when you will probably say that Eric Byrnes $15 million contract is unrosterable.

Hey man, view the challenge of it however you like. But by using real world salaries in a balanced payroll scheme you are ignoring the very economic conditions that create those salaries in the first place. If the point of the league is to have fun then this is a silly league, but if the point of the league is for this guy and his buddies to have a fantasy league that is some sort of protest against the skewed economics of Major League Baseball, then well done fellas. Mission accomplished.

How do you have a league average payroll with real-life salaries? I was unaware there was such a demand for everyone to be the owner of the Orioles and Brewers of the world. The purpose of fantasy is to break away from real life; not hold us all back because of the financial inequalities and stupidity in the real world.

I also have better things to do with my time than hold onto hope that through some fantasy league I'm going to become a MLB GM. Somewhere all of the fun is lost in the shuffle here.

BTW, good luck to whoever has Ryan Howard. His value just went out the window when the Phillies just gave him the worst current contract in MLB.

Cygar,

My league is very challenging. Basically the people in this thread (besides you, me, and Grey) would get dominated. They stick to the Yahoo free leagues. You know, the ones where people draft just for practice and then NEVER change their lineups again. Hahaha. They actaully think they are good when they win those free leagues.

Hey, weren't you the same guy that was talking about Danks? I think these guys were the same people that were talking smack about him. How has he been doing? Is it true he is 3-0 with a 1.55 ERA? Are these the same guys that use X-Fractures to deterime who to draft? hahahaha

Yes, I am still the same guy who was talking about Danks. I wasn't talking smack about Danks; I just wasn't touting him as the second coming as you would have liked.

Not only am I confident enough in my abilities as a fantasy baseball owner to not extend this horrid debate about this "real-life" league you are trying to push on people, but I'll be sure to check in come years end about Danks and his xFractacular ERA when it finishes right where it should... a smidge below 4.

Yeah my stupid Yahoo free league that has AVERAGED over 9,000 message board posts and that has, I guarantee, more action than your fanciful league of made up challenges.

Enjoy your 'real' money league with unreal salary caps. What a joke. I'm sure Andrew Friedman is about to knock on your door to offer you a job in recognition of your ability to manage a 'real' fake team. You and your league get the worlds slowest golf clap.

Just a note Ace, but if you are going with real-life salaries is there any reason you spent about half-a cent on your pitching staff? In what world is Ben Sheets worth his weight in gold?

Of course they aren't going to say anything about Danks now. They have no ground with their FIP. They'll wait until he gets knocked around sometime in July to comeout of the woodwork. And we will see about his FIP at the end of the year, because as your baseball genius knows, a guys whose FIP is "slightly" below 4 as a 23 year old, means it will remain that his entire career. You know how Halladay, Wainwright, Carpenter, Felix, Verlander, Greinke, and Sabathia all have the same FIP now as they did their first couple of years in the league.

And havoc, I like this comment.

Do you, you have 304 posts on this website since April 13. It appears the ONLY thing you do is this crap.

Big Jgke,

Easy on your burns. WOW!! Your league has 9,000 comments on the message board! WOW. That usually makes for fantastic league management and wonderful cutting edge scholars!! Please accept our apology for challenging your "message board" mania!

Yes, conversing with intelligent individuals who aren't trying to sell me on their AWESOME league format is what better I have to do with my time; among other things. I have zero to prove to you and plenty of people around here know that.

Someday you'll also learn to read and spell correctly too. I'll leave that one up to you to figure out boy genius.

Good day sir.

Seems appropriate:

Ron Burgundy: Boy, that escalated quickly... I mean, that really got
out of hand fast.
Champ Kind: It jumped up a notch.
Ron Burgundy: It did, didnt it?
Brick Tamland: Yeah, I stabbed a man in the heart.
Ron Burgundy: I saw that. Brick killed a guy. Did you throw a
trident?
