Cano for Hernandez

Postby jermainedye4life » Fri Mar 11, 2011 2:38 pm

Would you trade Robinson Cano for Felix Hernandez. I may have to add a little more on my end. Here is my line up going for the 2011 season as of right now:

C Geovany Soto, ChC C
1B Adrian Gonzalez, Bos 1B
2B Robinson Cano, NYY 2B
3B Alex Rodriguez, NYY 3B
SS Stephen Drew, Ari SS
OF Nelson Cruz, Tex OF
OF B.J. Upton, TB OF
OF Delmon Young, Min OF DTD
UTIL Grady Sizemore, Cle OF DTD
Bench Vladimir Guerrero, Bal DH
Bench Dexter Fowler, Col OF
Bench Kelly Johnson, Ari 2B
Bench Gaby Sanchez, Fla 1B

P Jhoulys Chacin, Col SP
SP Ubaldo Jimenez, Col SP
SP Yovani Gallardo, Mil SP PP
SP Max Scherzer, Det SP @NYY 1:05 PM
RP Jonathan Papelbon, Bos RP
RP Huston Street, Col RP
Bench Hiroki Kuroda, LAD SP
Bench Francisco Cordero, Cin RP
Bench Edwin Jackson, CWS SP
Bench James McDonald
Bench Clayton Richard

My league is a 10 team Keeper league (keep 5) with 6X6 Rotisserie scoring (use OPS and K/9 as categories). I'm looking to compete this year and I like my team the way it is but I am looking to improve my pitching. I really like Cano and wasn't looking to move him BUT this offer did become available.

Let me know your thoughts,

Your pitching looks pretty good to me. Your top 3 guys are solid and i like Chacin, Edwin, and Kuroda. I'm not really sure what to expect from McDonald or Richard but they can be replaced by waiver wire guys if they're struggling. I would hold on to Cano.

I would stick with Cano. Using K/9 as a stat makes Hernandez a little less valuable in my opinion.

I think Hernandez has more value. Most systems project him at about 1 K per IP, and he should top 200 IP.
It's not a no-brainer, but I'd pick up the King while you have a chance.
