Keeper Kwandry

Who to start, who to bench. Grab that WW guy? Low priced rookie or high priced stud?

Keeper Kwandry

Postby EthanRoto » Wed Mar 04, 2020 7:03 am

Looking forward to another season of roto-ball. I'm in a 12 team, auction, 5x5 (OBP, Ks), mixed keeper league (14 hitters, incl. 2 catchers, 5 OF, MI, CI, DH; 9 pitchers), $260 auction budget, $310 in-season cap. Keep up to 7 players.

Planning to keep:
C.Bellinger ($18)
J.Donaldson ($12)
W.Contreras ($4)
M.Canha ($1)
W.Calhoun ($3)
Y.Darvish ($6)

Candidates for #7 spot (or to replace any of those players):
G.Hampson ($3)
K.Seager ($1)
D.Lamet ($9)
R.Chirinos ($1)
M.Gonzales ($2)
S.Doolittle ($12)

Thanks for the great advice and content preseason and all season long - one of my few go-to sites year after year. Keep up the great work!

If you want me to look at your team, post the team. Don't post a link to another site where the team is.
Have you given me all the info I need to judge your team? The number of teams in the league is a good start for the big overall questions.
Is your league H2H? Roto?
I don't know who's on your waivers. Don't just ask me who you should pick up. Give me names to choose from.
If you only have one team, post your team in your signature with the league parameters.
I don't know every single matchup for next week, so if you want me to choose a player for the following week and you think the matchups are important, tell me who they're facing.
There's more than one player with the same last name? Then spell out who you're talking about.
Thanks!

Thanks - I like Lamet and think he's in for a big year for Ks, and hopefully SD gives him enough defense and run support to put up some Ws too. $9 seemed close to the line, but if someone else in my league liked him as much as me in FAAB last year (we do Vickrey bidding), he's probably at least somewhat fairly priced.

After Calhoun's HBP/fractured jaw, should I hang on to him and stash him on the DL (at least he didn't have to get it wired shut, so maybe won't end up losing a lot of weight/muscle from his offseason training?), or should I wish him well and move on to someone like Garrett Hampson for $3 and keep an eye on Calhoun for an in-season FAAB pickup (only players on the active MLB roster are eligible to be picked at our Auction)? Ryan Braun at $6? Robinson Chirinos at $1? I could see him being (understandably) a little gun-shy in the early going about standing in after that experience, which could also affect his performance.

Thanks again!

Can try Hampson instead if you like...I think Calhoun will likely be fine, but obviously hard to know now
