Help with first few selections of draft

Who to start, who to bench. Grab that WW guy? Low priced rookie or high priced stud?

Help with first few selections of draft

Postby Cabby » Sun Apr 01, 2012 12:18 pm

12 team H2H Keeper League
Keep 10 players

Categories: RBI, OBP, SB, R, TB
ERA, WHIP, SO, Wins+Quality Starts, Holds+Saves
Start 2 C, 1B, 2B, SS, 3B, CI, MI, 5 OF, U
6 SP, 3 RP

Keepers: 1B Adrian Gonzalez, SS Hanley Ramirez, 3B Ryan Zimmermann, OF Jose Bautista, OF Matt Holliday, OF Jason Werth, OF Carlos Gonzalez, SP Yovani Gallardo, SP Cole Hamels, P Neftali Feliz

Minor Keepers: Wil Myers, Wilin Rosario, Anthony Rendon, Jurickson Profar, Dominic Brown
Shelby Miller, Martin Perez, Jameson Taillon, Addison Reed, Archie Bradley

First off, what do you think of my base? I have the second pick in the upcoming snake draft, I also have an extra pick in round 3 of the draft. Who should i go with my first pick and what should I focus on in my first few picks?

Available players with my pick: Hitters: Chris Young Ari, Michael Morse, Corey Hart, Erick Aybar, Alexei Ramirez, Justin Morneau, Jose Tabata
Pitchers: Daniel Hudson, Brandon Beachy, Anibal Sanchez, John Axford, M. Rivera, JJ Putz, Ubaldo Jimenez, Brian Wilson, CLay Bucholtz, Marcum, Scherzer, Cory Luebke.

With my first pick I kinda want to take a pitcher(one of Hudson, Beachy or Sanchez) but if I pass on the available OF's(I like Chris Young here because we use OBP) there is a drop-off in talent because I will miss out of Morse and Hart and be left with Markakis, M. Cabrera, M. Joyce, Delmon Young, etc. If I choose an OF first, I should be able to get a good closer with my second pick and get someone like Scherzer, Marcum or Fister with my 3rd pick. thoughts?

I'd take Krispie Young. There seems to be a good amount of SPs that should be available at your next pick.

If I use Bautista as an OF that would give me an OF of Jose Bautista, Carlos Gonzalez, Matt Holliday, Jason Werth and Crispie Young. I could also use Bautista as my CI too. Hard decision, I really like Hudson and Sanchez as well.

I would go with Hudson.... Seems very solid and has potential to be better this year!!!

If you decided to go SP, Beachy or Hudson is the choice.....Sanch isn't in their realm (he may be there for you in the 2nd actually)

I really really really like Beachy this year, but Hudson is probably the safer choice.
