Which keeper?

Who to start, who to bench. Grab that WW guy? Low priced rookie or high priced stud?

Which keeper?

Postby nostrathomas » Thu Feb 17, 2011 1:30 pm

In my league we are allowed to keep any three players drafted round 6 and after. If you keep a player from the sixth round, you would then lose your pick for that round. If a player was a FA, then you give up your last draft pick. And so on.

Okay, so I have a problem deciding my third keeper. I have CarGo as a last round pick (FA from 09; you can keep a player for three years), and Votto as a 17 (last year I can keep him). That leaves me with the following to choose from:

Josh Johnson - 12th round (2 yrs eligibility left; kept from 09 season)

Elvis Andrus - 8th round pick from 2010

Delmon Young - FA pick up (would cost me 23rd pick overall)

I think there is a case for each player. Johnson in the 12 round is a very good value, but I don't like keeping pitchers and he's got an injury history. I'm not a huge Andrus fan but SS is really shallow, and if he ever has that real breakout season he could be a steal. And Young would have the most value, but I think I could probably draft him in rounds 10-13.

Thoughts anyone? I hope this made sense

If you want me to look at your team, post the team. Don't post a link to another site where the team is.
Have you given me all the info I need to judge your team? The number of teams in the league is a good start for the big overall questions.
Is your league H2H? Roto?
I don't know who's on your waivers. Don't just ask me who you should pick up. Give me names to choose from.
If you only have one team, post your team in your signature with the league parameters.
I don't know every single matchup for next week, so if you want me to choose a player for the following week and you think the matchups are important, tell me who they're facing.
There's more than one player with the same last name? Then spell out who you're talking about.
