2nd pick in a 7 cat league

I pick 2nd in a fairly goofy league. - Standard 5 + OPS and BB (H2H if that matters) - C,1b,2b,SS,3b,OF,OF,OF,UT,UT - "Family" 12 teamer, I would say 5 are absolute fantasy psychopaths, 5 are decent competition and 2 are casual players Some thoughts: - Had this exact same spot last year and took Han...

On a limb with Adam Dunn...

I am often puzzled when I read "experts" break-down Adam Dunn. They will talk a little about how he is moving to a more friendly hitting environment, and you will almost always see the word "consistent" used to describe Dunn's production. "Experts" will project him for 90/40/115/1/.260, highly recom...

Re: First team of the season!

Sick outfield!

I like Pena, Hill and Reynolds but I am not certain I would want more than one on the same roster...

Hopefully the waiver wire has some closers for you.

Yahoo's rankings are killing Me

I really wish Yahoo (and wherever you play) would put more vanilla rankings up; a little less aggressive and a little more based on last years performance. At first glance the majority of the "sexy" picks are overrated.... Alot of the work I have done this offseason goes out the window every year wh...

Re: On a limb with Jose Lopez...

If you followed the IF shuffle at Colorado last season you'd probably stay clear of all those guys. Believe you me, I fully understand the #1 hurdle for Lopez will be playing time; my original post had to be the first ever take that dealt more with playing time than actual performance. I just reall...

On a limb with Jose Lopez...

I am going to go out on a limb and say: Jose Lopez will not only win the starting job in Colorado, but he will compete with Cano and Utley for the honors of top fantasy second basemen in 2011. Prediction: 88/26/100/.315/5 (600 at bats) Jose will get off to a solid start in spring training in the dry...

Re: Cano or C.Gon?

Really a tough call, for me it would probably come down to the available replacement second basemen.

A few reasons for:
- In a 10 teamer the lack of depth at 2B isn't quite as magnified
- Cargo currently runs
- Carlos is three years younger
- People forget Gonzalez put up his '10 number in 145 games

AGon Walks?

I play in a league that scores walks, I am very high on AGon but I have concerns that his walk total will dip for two reasons: #1 More protection = less pitching around Adrian (how did any right hander pitch to him in '10?) #2 He only has two years of huge walk totals under his belt I am concerned t...
