Draft Recap

Postby yf4e10 » Fri Mar 22, 2019 8:18 am

Hey Grey,

That time of year for me to run some mocks. I'm feeling less enthused about this potential team than previous seasons... what do you think? Looks like it may be a bit light on OBP/power. Thoughts? Will come post the real deal after tomorrow's draft.

Seems fine to me on pitching, too light on power and OBP for hitting

If you want me to look at your team, post the team. Don't post a link to another site where the team is.
Have you given me all the info I need to judge your team? The number of teams in the league is a good start for the big overall questions.
Is your league H2H? Roto?
I don't know who's on your waivers. Don't just ask me who you should pick up. Give me names to choose from.
If you only have one team, post your team in your signature with the league parameters.
I don't know every single matchup for next week, so if you want me to choose a player for the following week and you think the matchups are important, tell me who they're facing.
There's more than one player with the same last name? Then spell out who you're talking about.
Thanks!

So if I Voit instead of fletcher at CI, and maybe do a dejong or something instead of Peraza, you think that’s sufficient? Any targets pop out to you in particular?

Think I’d be better suited just blowing $60 on trout and just scrapping together from there? Hopefully getting a belli, but skipping Mondesi and acuna?

I’m gonna tinker with some math and I’ll come back with another potential roster. Much love!

What think you about something like this if it could come together?

C- whoever (kelly/jansen?)- 2
1B- Bellinger-25
2B- Odor-10
3B- Shaw-13
SS- Peraza-11
MI- Hampson/McMahon if no platoon, otherwise maybe Schoop?-3
CI- Voit-5
OF- Trout-60
OF- Acuna-40
OF- Winker-3
OF- Sunday Santana-5
UTIL- Eloy/Robles-10
UTIL- Alonso-3

SP- Carrasco/Bauer-25
SP- Bieber-10
SP- Luchessi-8
SP- Glasnow-8
RP- Alvarado-3
RP- whoever-2
P- Ryu-4
P- Woodruff-2
P- Paddack-2
P- Strahm-2

This seems mildly unrealistic for an auction, but I'm really set on owning Trout, Acuna, and Bellinger, and think that this is a reasonable surrounding squad if I can budget appropriately. This leaves me with like no money leftover for bench spots though. Looking to cut a few dollars somewhere, maybe by replacing the prospect OF with a Mazara or (just for you) Inciarte. How else would you go about cutting a few dollars? Thoughts?

Also, just for S+Gs, check out what I finished with last year:

C- Barnhart
1B- Bellinger
2B- Albies
3B- Freeman
SS- Segura
MI- Lindor
CI- Arenado
OF- Trout
OF- Acuna
OF- Soto
OF- Mazara
UTIL- Gallo
UTIL- Choi

SP- Bauer
SP- Nola
SP- Sale
SP- Wheeler
RP- Yates
RP- Diaz
P- Bieber
P- Castillo
P- Mikolas
P- Marquez

This was in the same league. I'm instantly demoralized when I think about how I'll not be able to assemble this again this season lol

Also, just realized that I joined these forums less than two years after you, which nearly makes me an OG. That's pretty cool. Thanks as always!

Nice team from last year!

You can cut $ from UTIL and those $2 pitchers, make them $1 and scrounge up some guys for UTIL... Spending $125 on 3 players is a lot tho... Try to get it down to $100, then spread more $ around

So I just finished drafting, and it went... not as planned. Very much so.

H2H // R HR RBI OBP SLG NSB // K ERA WHIP QS K:BB NSV
C- Jensen
1B- Bellinger
2B- Mondesi
3B- Rendon

RP- Colome
P- Glasnow
P- Lucchessi
P- Stripling
P- Strahm

BN- Peacock
BN- Woodruff
BN- Matz
BN- P Alonso
NA- Tatis

Missed out out Paddack due to a WiFi blip, sigh. Finished with $11 surplus because I'm a dummy. It pains me to think what I would have ended up with had I not been so foolish. Was gonna get Trout no matter what and figure the rest out afterwards, but when he got to $69 (nice), I got cold feet.

What do you think? Anything jump out as a potential source of improvement?

Looks like a team I'd draft, I'd be happy with it, sucks about the wifi and $11 blips and no Trout, but still... pitching and hitting looks solid...I like the team!

That's about the best report I could hope for!

I think I have an excess of MI speed with Mondesi, Peraza, Story and Tatis. What do you think I should target in exchange for offloading some? Maybe a wheeler-tier type arm?

Where are you sitting at Mania btw?

The 1st Wrestlemania? Way up in the nose bleeds, watched it on the jumbotron, couldn't see the ring... I went to another Mania (3rd), for that one I had a little better seats, but still not that close... I'd take Wheeler for Peraza
