Jimmy Rollins or Carlos Lee?

H2H-12 man-2 keeper league. J-Roll really burned me last year. Yeah he was hurt, but even later in the season he looked lost at the plate. El Caballo is Mr. Consistent. Also, loading up on sluggers seems to be more important in H2H than Roto. I don't know what to do! Rollins is my boy, but man, I'm torn! Pujols is my other keeper.

Rollins. He was 47/50 stealing bases last year, so I see 40SB as the floor for him. Now that Carlos has stopped stealing, I think he's a little worse. Position eligibility is a big factor, too.

They're two of the most reliable players out there. Other than last year, neither has been hurt in a long time. You'll be happy either way.

Lee is a nice guy. His annual 30 HR are the very model of a modern major general. But I say go w/ Rollins. It's conceivable that he hits 20 HR this year. That, plus the inevitable 35+ SBs and the positional scarcity, puts him ahead of Lee.

But one thing I noticed on Rollins (kind of a warning?): in his 6 full years in the majors, he's only had more that 15 HR *twice*. Interesting, that's all.

Rollins' HR/RBI numbers in 2008 look awfully much like what he did in 2001-2005.

He seems more likely to give you 15/65 than 25/80, methinks. Of course he will score 110+ runs and steal 40-50 but his career batting average is just .277.

He's helping in two categories and treading water in the others.

I have the 9th pick in a league I'm in and I like a slew of other guys more than Rollins.
