1B Draft Strategy

I play in a 12-team C/1B/2B/SS/3B/OF/OF/OF/UTIL league. I really like taking a power 1B to shape my team around. My question is when to take a 1B if I miss out on the top tier (through Fielder). Here's how I see the draft shaping up (using ESPN):

1st - Miggy, Pujols, Votto
Early 2nd - Gonzalez, Fielder
3rd - Teixeira, Konerko
4th - Berkman, Hosmer, Santana
6th - Morse, Young
8th - Cuddyer
11th - Lind, Freeman, Morales
14th-17th - Lee, Sanchez, Goldschmidt, Pena
18th - Davis, Howard
19th - Duda, Dunn, Moreland
20+ - Carp, Belt, Loney, Trumbo

I don't like the value of most of those rounds. How about taking Lind or Freeman around the 11th and Howard in the 18th (to stash on the DL)? What are you guys planning to do?

I don't know that you can really plan for it, but I like Morse, Lind, Trumbo & Morales (providing they have jobs) and of course Mark Reynolds in later rounds.

Given the choices you have I like Ike Davis in the 18th and then use your bench or your reserve to get one or two the late late fliers. I have been looking at Brian LaHair, Yonder and Mitch Moreland as guys that you might carry early on and see if one of them is a breakout. I think Moreland is more interesting than people are giving him credit for. He was really set back by the injury last year. The Rangers front office and their players seem to believe in him. He's got a good looking swing and some minor league bona fides. If he gets off to a good start, the Rangers won't use Michael Young there as much and Moreland should get a full season of ABs in a good park in a good line up.

Konerko could easily fall to the 4th round. Ike Davis won't be around in the 18th.
