1B: Eric Hosmer
2B: Chase Utley
3B: Aramis Ramirez
SS: Troy Tulowitzki

OF: Drew Stubbs
OF: Matt Kemp
UT: Carlos Pena

Re: Pena or Hosmer?
i would go Hosmer. Pena will get hot at some point at hit some homers but thats about it. Hosmer could be great and will be at least solid.
Re: Pena or Hosmer?
seriously? Hosmer is on the royals. he has never played in a mlb game. He has 3 hr in 98 ab this year. he might be okay. but he is not the next coming of jesus christ.

Re: Pena or Hosmer?
Pena has had a month to generate a whopping 16.10 points in our league (where he is a FA).
OP, your league may not be a keeper, but personally, I would much more enjoy watching Hosmer develop (and struggle) than Pena struggle.

Re: Pena or Hosmer?
If you need the power you stick with Pena, but if you need Avg I would go with Hosmer.
Re: Pena or Hosmer?
I'd say Hosmer. Take a chance on the upside.

Re: Pena or Hosmer?
Seriously though. What is the Hosmer upside this year? He has 30 minor league home runs in over 1000 at bats. Unless you are in a keeper/ franchise league it isn't even close for this year.

Re: Pena or Hosmer?
I've only played keeper in the last ten years so my perspective is a bit skewed.
I would let Pena rot on the FA wire or on someone else's roster. If he is a FA and he gets hot, then you pick him up. If he is on someone's team and gets hot, then you can still laugh at the other guy wasting a roster spot while pena's in one of his 2 for 38 stretches.
I"d rather take a chance on the unknown. I would be happy if Hosmer hits .280 with 10 homers and shows that he's not overmatched.
Even in one year leagues, I would still rather take a chance on Hosmer and see what I have there... cuz you already know the frustration you will get from Pena... especially since he's dealing with an injury.

Re: Pena or Hosmer?
I agree with this statement. I grabbed Votto during his rookie campaign. Everyone said he was just a spray hitter (what everyone is calling Hosmer now) with little chance to be a 30HR guy. We all know how that turned out. Grab Hosmer.I've only played keeper in the last ten years so my perspective is a bit skewed.

If you want me to look at your team, post the team. Don't post a link to another site where the team is.
Have you given me all the info I need to judge your team? The number of teams in the league is a good start for the big overall questions.
I don't know who's on your waivers. Don't just ask me who you should pick up. Give me names to choose from.
If you only have one team, post your team in your signature with the league parameters.
