Alright so I'm starting a "degenerate" (waaay to into Fantasy Baseball) league that'll start mid-season. Trying to move around categories, etc. Need some input.
Hitting:
Runs
HR
RBI
OBP
NS (net steals)
I think OBP is a lot better than batting average because you get some credit for plate discipline. Also if you've got a guy who gets pitched around a lot you get credit for that. I think Net Steals is better because if a guy gets caught that should count against him.
Pitching:
K
ERA
WHIP
QS (Quality Starts)
NS (net saves)
Pretty basic here. Put Quality Starts in there instead of Wins (the worst category of all time). Again went with the Net Saves here because I think it should count against you if you blow a Save.
Alright so what do you guys think about these Categories?
I have a question also about Keepers. I set this up as a Yahoo League. Do I have to customize the settings somehow to make it a Keeper League or what? Thanks for the input guys.

Those categories are fine, but when you start messing with categories (Net Saves/Steals) you end up limiting the amount of information you can gleam from somewhere. For instance, you can't read a box score and see immediately what someone's done. No idea on the Y! question.

If you want me to look at your team, post the team. Don't post a link to another site where the team is.
Have you given me all the info I need to judge your team? The number of teams in the league is a good start for the big overall questions.
Is your league H2H? Roto?
I don't know who's on your waivers. Don't just ask me who you should pick up. Give me names to choose from.
If you only have one team, post your team in your signature with the league parameters.
I don't know every single matchup for next week, so if you want me to choose a player for the following week and you think the matchups are important, tell me who they're facing.
There's more than one player with the same last name? Then spell out who you're talking about.
Thanks!

I am in a keeper league that uses Yahoo, and we draft offline and the commish enters the results manually. I don't know about auto drafting.

I don’t like the net saves thing (I assume it’s saves minus blown saves). It adds an extra wrinkle but doesn’t make the game any fairer. Some guy who always only pitches one inning is gonna be at a great advantage to guys who are asked to get 4,5 out saves. If a guy is called in with 1st and 3rd, one out in the 8th in a one run game and gives up a flyball, he gets a blown save. Plus elite setup men get extra chances to be liabilities. They get charged with BS but have few chances to actually get a save.
