You're speaking to the office of the Dan Uggla Cheer Society. I'd say buy if you can get him for cheap. I feel like our 2012 3rd rounder, Danny Boy, will be ultra cheap next year.

I have an offer, Cliff Lee for Uggla. Both are under performers this year.

Cliff Lee - 140.1 IP, 130 K, 3.85 ERA, 1.18 WHIP, 5.42 K/BB, 11 QS.
I would take him for Uggla in a heartbeat.

Re: Uggla - cut my losses?
It was worth the hope that he'd have a good August but that hope's gone now.
Still, for those who dropped him when this thread began, they missed out on a pretty decent line temporarily... In the 9 games after this thread really got going Uggla had a line of 10-31, 3 HR's, 9 RBI, 7 runs. For those who dropped him in early August they got nothing. In a perfect world it would have been better to have dropped him in June, but who knew that he would suck so hard from the second half of June until the end of time?
Obviously he's worth dropping at this point, but dropping him as he was warming up in a month where he's historically been at his best was not a great idea. For anyone who held onto him through July, one of the most atrocious one month lines I've ever seen, it didn't hurt to hold out an extra two or three weeks. Thankfully I don't own Uggla but in two leagues and I no longer own him in those, but at least he gave a going away present to those who suffered through June and July with his terrible line on the bench or, in a bad scenario, in their lineups.

Re: Uggla - cut my losses?
Alright boys, especially you regular Braves followers. Tell me what to make of the following....
Since being left out of the lineup for the first three games this week, Uggla has been showing signs of improvement at the plate. After recording two extra-base hits during Friday night's 3-0 win over the Mets, the All-Star second baseman told reporters, "I'm back."
Uggla was indeed back in the lineup for a fourth consecutive game on Saturday afternoon against the Mets. Uggla showed some encouraging signs when he lined out to left field on Wednesday and then hit an opposite-field double in Thursday's win over the Rockies. During Friday's victory over the Mets, he doubled to left in the sixth inning and then hit his 18th home run of the season in the ninth inning.
"You can see him trying to come out of it," Gonzalez said. "Those are good signs. [Braves hitting coach Greg Walker] and I are encouraged about that."

Re: Uggla - cut my losses?
He's been on fire lately, but how long will it continue? He's been one of the Braves' hottest two hitters in the last week, so he may be worth an add for the rest of the year. I'm through with him though. I'd rather watch a Braves game without feeling personally attacked every time he strikes out.
