With just 59 days left in the season, the Rank Railheads (RCL 40) are looking tough to beat with 114 points after adding another one to their total this week. Their pitching staff continued to shine, finishing the week with a 2.68 ERA and 0.89 WHIP. The Railheads are carefully managing their starters, as they have used 159 starts already. In 4 starts this week, David Price, Kris Medlen, and Yovani Gallardo combined for an ERA of 1.65. panthers_freak (We’ve Got the Runs — Baseball Reasons) managed to pull within 4 points of the leaders, jumping from 107 to 110 points. Pliny the Elder (Myrtle’s Acres) gained 5 points and moved into third place with 107 points. MattTruss223 (Rube Waddell’s Shiny Objects — Magnificent Mustachioed Men) and The Fugs (Epic Beardmen Division) have 105, followed by captainpyper (RCL 3) with 103, and 4 teams at 102: royce! — That’s Not Very Maybin (Original Recipe), Team Beefcake (Fantasy Booze Cruise), Team Birdis (RCL 3), and Bay Bombers (Razz Roto 2). The New York Braves (Toads n Wet Rocks) made the biggest gain this week, jumping from 375th into the top half of the pool at 243rd. The Silver Bullet Bandits (ECFBL) also had an impressive week, moving 117 spots to 162nd place with 76 points. On June 4th they were in 514th place with 43 points. And, of course, the ECFBL is still the toughest league, with no real challenge from the rest of us.

Expert League: It’s crowded at the top as Dalton Del Don (RotoWire Del Don) moved into a tie with Ryan Carey (Mastersball Carey) at 88 points,  6 ahead of Tim Dierkes (P.F. Flyer) and  Razzball Rudy Gamble. Rudy was the top offensive expert, hitting .271 with 17 home runs and 56 RBI. His top player was the second-half wonder, Adam Laroche, who hit .478 with 6 runs, 4 HR, and 10 RBI.  Grey had a .294 average this week and a fine 2.78 ERA, but could gain only 1 point to 65, and remained in 7th place.

Trades: As the deadline draws near, there was much activity on the trade front. 18 deals were completed, highlighted by one in RCL 29, where the first place Oh My Crawford sent Josh Willingham, Felix Hernandez, Fernando Rodney, and Jose Valverde to the 5th place Los Angeles Green Sox for the magnificent Mike Trout. In the RAZZBALL ROTO LEAGUE, I gave up Madison Bumgarner, Gio Gonzalez, Bryce Harper, and Howie Kendrick for Robinson Cano, Wade Miley, Michael Brantley, and Jon Lester. In RCL 25, Beer Monsters, nearing the game started limit, made 4 separate deals for relievers, exchanging Ryan Vogelsong, Johnny Cueto, Ben Sheets, and Jason Vargas for Jonathan Broxton, Tyler Clippard, J.J. Putz, and Santiago Casilla. Also on the move this week were Andrew McCutchen, Matt Kemp, Ian Kinsler, David Ortiz, Craig Kimbrel, Cole Hamels, and Josh Hamilton. You can find all the details in the fantasy baseball forums. Look for the RCL under “Everything Else.” And remember, all trades must be completed by noon ET, Friday.
