Brandon Belt

Postby harrisonobeid » Sun Mar 20, 2011 9:03 pm

I'm in love with him. What I don't get is why most scouts and projectors don't have him hitting 30+ homers. This guys has slugged .600 a clip at every level in the minors. Well actually he only slugged .563 in the triple A. What a drop off.

Seriously, what is holding this guy back from hitting 30 ding dongs?

Projecting 30 homers for when? This year? Where's he playing every day to get those homers?

If you want me to look at your team, post the team. Don't post a link to another site where the team is.
Have you given me all the info I need to judge your team? The number of teams in the league is a good start for the big overall questions.
Is your league H2H? Roto?
I don't know who's on your waivers. Don't just ask me who you should pick up. Give me names to choose from.
If you only have one team, post your team in your signature with the league parameters.
I don't know every single matchup for next week, so if you want me to choose a player for the following week and you think the matchups are important, tell me who they're facing.
There's more than one player with the same last name? Then spell out who you're talking about.
Thanks!

Obviously if he doesn't get the starting job this year, 30 homers may be hard to come by. But I have heard the Giants are toying with the idea of him at first and Huff in LF.

Either way, I don't hear scouts or 'perts give this guy the power credit that his numbers represent. Most say something along the lines of "has some pop, but wont go crazy," and that applies for this year and the future. Those kind of statements make me think Billy Butler, and Billy Butler makes me think "waste of time."

The league I'm drafting in has a separate minor league draft in which I could take this guy and retain him for relatively low, or zero, draft cost (depending on whether or not he eclipses his rookie eligibility.) However, I'd prefer to draft Eric Hosmer or Mike Moustakas if there's something to these 'average' power projections for Belt.
