Wow, this team's insane. Did you draft against all auto drafts? Did you slot in ten of yourself and only draft for one team? What's your secret, man?! Oh, wait, it's ten team, not 12 team.

You're a little light on speed and you might be a bit low on average. Otherwise, great pitching for the value you spent and solid hitting. I like the team. I especially love how you went heavy on Corner guys and OF. Those are exactly the places you want to load up.

I agree that I am light on both speed and average. This draft was bizarre. I couldn't say no to the bats that kept dropping to me. Then again, maybe that's the problem with the ten-teamer...

There was only one auto-pilot, but I was surprised with all the pitching that got taken early. One guy had Santana, Lincecum, and Hamels in rounds 2-4 or something close to that. I was only burned about getting scooped on Cruz in the 14th.

Normally when I've had a draft slot 8-10, I've taken a slugger plus Utley on the way back. I think I like the composition of this team a little better with corner studs instead. There was a bit of a fear-factor that I had to get over when I was drafting 3 corner guys and 4 OF in the first 7 rounds. I was worried my team would be woefully inadequate up the middle; then again, maybe that's what I need to learn -- fantasy baseball is not real baseball and you don't have to be strong up the middle or rely on great starting pitching to win.

The one real question I have is whether I am getting too predictable with my no pitchers in the first 7-8 rounds or so and then a run in the middle rounds. Then I usually go on another self-run of closers in the late teens. Would you advise that I break it up a little? As far as I'm concerned, unless Peavy falls to me in the fifth, I don't want a pitcher before then... and closers are, well, closers.

Not sure I follow, why would you be worried that you're being too predictable?

I will say that I don't think it's a smart idea to say no completely to pitchers just because there's a mandate across all fantasy baseball sites that says never draft pitching. I think that could get dangerous. Like what I did in the expert draft the other day. No one was drafting pitching so I ended up getting a ridiculous staff with lots of value. I think the best thing you can do is take guys when they're right for the takin'. Just because you don't want a pitcher before the 7th round doesn't mean you shouldn't grab Johan in the third round if he's there. Just because you don't want a closer early doesn't mean there's not a place for Nathan in the 7th or 8th rounds. I think the best thing is too be flexible.
