Solid team. Great value on your pitching staff. I worry about Volquez but a small quibble. You could definitely go to battle with your staff and you didn't take one guy before the 89th pick. That shows you the kind of value you can find with a pitching staff if you just wait.

I like your OF a lot, good solid, five tool guys. You'd probably struggle a bit on average, but not too bad. You'd also need Prince Fielder to bounce back, but I think he will. Reyes with the 5th pick is insane. You take him at 5 every time.

EDIT: Typo.

Grey, what do you make of Victorino in the fourth?

I think it's about pick 56 here. It's a solid pick. If you look at Victorino's numbers and then look at Carl Crawford, they're really not that different, except Crawford goes around pick 30 and Victorino around pick 50.

Picks in this round were:

Bay
Hamels
Webb
Quentin
Rios (who I had targeted)
Shields
Vlad (who I had targeted)
VICTORINO
Youk
Ortiz
Kemp
Martin

I can't be that upset about getting "stuck" with Victorino. Admittedly, I felt pressure to fill an OF slot after going Reyes, Prince, A-Ram in the first three rounds and having a pre-draft goal of selecting a top-three catcher in this two-catcher format.

At that point, I knew I was going to have to go catcher in the fifth and I had an elite SS and power on the corners taken care of...

Nothing wrong with the pick. Just had seen him talked about as maybe a 5th-6th rounder so was just interested in Grey's view and your thinking.

Always looking to copy good stategy ;-)
