Hitter for Pitcher

Postby EthanRoto » Thu May 16, 2019 2:33 pm

I'm in a 12 team, 5x5 (OBP) auction keeper league, 15 hitters, 9 pitchers, 6 bench. We have a $260 auction budget, $310 in-season cap, and can keep players for 1 year at the same salary or up to 3 years at +$5 per year.

I've been offered Kenta Maeda ($6), and would be giving up Franmil Reyes ($2). I'd asked for Jack Flaherty ($2 - final year of contract), but that was rejected. I like the power upside for Reyes a lot (cheap keeper for another year if he keeps mashing?), but I'm sitting in 3rd and it's early enough that I think I could hang in and maybe contend - flags fly forever, right? Team's pretty balanced (aside from disaster at closer), but have other options for OF, and starting pitching could use another something.

Also, any reason to keep holding on to Jeffress? The early hope of him claiming the closer job hasn't seemed to get any closer to reality, but I'm sure it will happen as soon as I dump him.

Thanks for your help!

Orrrrr... how about taking a chance on Clevinger, if we are going with an upside/buy-low injured player to trade and stash...

Forget Jeffress, drop him

I'd take Clevinger if this is more about keepers -- Maeda is fine, assuming he's healthy in 10 days, I don't know the extent of his injury

If you want me to look at your team, post the team. Don't post a link to another site where the team is.
Have you given me all the info I need to judge your team? The number of teams in the league is a good start for the big overall questions.
Is your league H2H? Roto?
I don't know who's on your waivers. Don't just ask me who you should pick up. Give me names to choose from.
If you only have one team, post your team in your signature with the league parameters.
I don't know every single matchup for next week, so if you want me to choose a player for the following week and you think the matchups are important, tell me who they're facing.
There's more than one player with the same last name? Then spell out who you're talking about.
Thanks!
