I would take heyward in just about any situation. You need more sp, but take heyward and then sell a worse bat for similar or better arm.

I think your bats are fine (Lawrie coming back helps), and I would not do this trade.

Ya I agree on the basis that I dont need another bat per se, but its April and if I can scoop up better overall talent I generally tend to do it and sort it out later.

So I guess the question is really whether or not you think: (A) Harvey will remain a very good pitcher throughout this year; and (B) If you think Heyward will turn it around and produce like last year?

Going 1/3 already today boosted his average by 14 points. Will Harvey win the cy young, win 30 games, and continue to allow one run baseball every 7+ innings? Fat chance. Paul maholm is the second best pitcher in baseball right now. Cust Kayin.

Obviously I didn't mean is he going to maintain a sub-1 era and whip all year and win everyone of his starts until the end of the season... but thanks for the insight.

Right. I was at an extreme too. But I think you catch my point that he won't be the #1 sp even in a month. And heyward can look real good real quick.

Take Heyward, the Braves look strong and he will get out of his slump.
