Looks like a Fender...plays like a Fender...but doesn't quite sound like a Fender

You know these guys....Overachievers. Playing beyond their talent. Usually a FA pickup offered up for top ten talent as you laughingly reject their trade offer (some 2 for 1 garbage...) But in the end their usually good value.

Negative: I can't believe he tried offering me that squier for Votto

Postive: That squier really bailed me out when <insert name> hit the DL

(I'm sure you could come up with much better examples...)
