Oaktown Jay: Did you see the news in SI online? Selig sent A's a letter months ago "stop pursuing SJ."

Oaktown Steve: Funny thing is the As because of their success are great for baseball. They give hope to small market teams. And it's great for fans like us. Only ones it doesn't work for are the puds in the owner partnership.

Oaktown Jay: Yep. A friend of mine is friends with the Fishers. Kids lacross. He lets Wolffe take all the heat but is even more to blame.

Apparently MLB has already told the A's that San Jose is a no go. The reason it's even still a topic is that the A's like a lot of teams are owned by a partnership many of whom bought in as a gamble on a move to SJ greatly enhancing the value of their shares. Wolff is the front guy so the other partners force him to take a public hard line because they are in it purely as an investment. Fisher is the guy who founded Gap and according to Oaktown jay he's the partner pushing the hardest for a move out of Oakland but he lets Wolff take the heat.

Oh! With all the offseason trading going on right now, I thought SJ was a player's initials...
