Was just tootling around the Interwebnet and stumbled across news that the third volume for the American Underworld trilogy - Blood's A Rover - will be released in June next year.
Loved American Tabloid and The Cold Six Thousand so can't wait for that...

I've never read anything by him. Any good? What's the best introduction to him?

If you want me to look at your team, post the team. Don't post a link to another site where the team is.
Have you given me all the info I need to judge your team? The number of teams in the league is a good start for the big overall questions.
Is your league H2H? Roto?
I don't know who's on your waivers. Don't just ask me who you should pick up. Give me names to choose from.
If you only have one team, post your team in your signature with the league parameters.
I don't know every single matchup for next week, so if you want me to choose a player for the following week and you think the matchups are important, tell me who they're facing.
There's more than one player with the same last name? Then spell out who you're talking about.
Thanks!

He also wrote LA Confidential, so I'm assuming you've seen the movie?
In a non-Titanic year, would have been a shoe-in for Best Picture. That Titanic was some sort of shit though, wasn't it?
So that's one place to start. But taking a bit of a stab at your tastes in movies, books and culture generally, I'd start with American Tabloid.

Oh, La Confidential was great. If not for Boogie Nights, it would've been my favorite movie of that year.He also wrote LA Confidential, so I'm assuming you've seen the movie?

Ok, this is interesting. Didn't know you guys read novels too.
LA Confidential was The movie of that year, fuck Titanic. Ellroy, huh? I'll check it out.
Anybody ever read Swan Song by Robert R. McCammon? My favorite book, just finished reading it for the third time. No small feat, it's 980 pages but will keep you reading till morning.
Basic Good vs. Evil, holocaust style. You won't be sorry.

You've read a 980 page novel three times? Is it safe to assume this is the only book you've read for three years of your life?

Ha
No. It was written in 87, I read it then and again about 10 years later. Now once again. Trust me, it's that good. The ultimate 'what should we do if the world dies' book. In these days that seems appropriate.
I got a lotta time on my hands, what with the family 200 miles away. Work, read, sleep, work, read, drink, drink, baseball, football, read and then drink. Oh, and work. Let's not forget that.
