Peavy or Buchholz?

Who to start, who to bench. Grab that WW guy? Low priced rookie or high priced stud?

Peavy or Buchholz?

Postby Rpales » Wed May 26, 2010 10:46 am

Pretty sure I know how Razz felt about Peavy since pre-season, but in my league I own a ton of SPs and am very selective. Peavy still has the K/9 and is consistent in that he pitches better vs poor offenses (until last night, hence this post...), so I can use him against the bottom 10 teams and get decent numbers by the end of the year. I don't start him half the time...

That said, I'm very close to flushing him for Buchholz, who is starting to put together a nice season.

No brainer at this point?

I actually dropped Peavy for Buchholz about a month ago and exactly what Grey described in the blog happened. He was immediately picked up and that guy's pitching has been getting bombed since. Peavy may not be the sole reason but he hasn't helped as far as i can tell.

You're right about the k rate being good, but there are plenty of guys on waivers who can get you good outings against the Royals and Indians, imo.

Just wish i had hung on to Buchholz...
