Roster issues and tough decisions

Who to start, who to bench. Grab that WW guy? Low priced rookie or high priced stud?

Roster issues and tough decisions

Postby Frank Rizzo » Mon Aug 31, 2020 8:06 am

My league and team posted below. I feel a need to make changes but my challenge is the league I'm in only allows 3 add/drops per week.

I need to prioritize any changes I make because I get so few per week.

Baez and JD have been complete busts for me. They are hurting me more than helping. Olson has hurt me as well, but offers some power at least once per week. I'm just not sure who to dump and who to keep. We're so long into the season already and playoffs begin just 2 weeks from now. I don't know how long to hold onto guys like JD, Baez, and to a lesser extent Olson (Or even Marte who has been BA only). Many other teams in my league are dumping their anchors as well, even highly drafted ones. How long do I hold onto hope with Baez and JD? Which is more useless going forward?

Wire options I'm looking at:
Trent Grisham SD - LF,CF,RF
Alex Verdugo Bos - LF,CF,RF
Ian Happ ChC - 2B,3B,LF,CF (Strongly considering Happ, but probably only if I dump Baez)
Jon Berti Mia - 2B,3B,SS,CF,RF
Jake Cronenworth SD - 1B,2B,SS
Mitch Moreland SD - 1B (Full time now?)
Eric Hosmer SD - 1B (Not much power)

Any guidance for this underachieving offense is welcome.
Yahoo 10 Team H2H, 5 x 5, Outfielders position specific. Keep 1 each year in the round he was drafted.

SS - Javier Báez ChC - SS
3B - José Ramírez Cle - 3B
LF - Lourdes Gurriel Jr. Tor - 2B,LF
CF - Ian Happ ChC - 2B,3B,LF,CF
RF - Kyle Tucker Hou - LF,RF
Util - Nelson Cruz Min - Util
Bench - Max Kepler Min - CF,RF

SP - Luis Castillo Cin - SP
SP - Patrick Corbin Was - SP
SP - Shane Bieber Cle - SP (10th round keeper)
SP - Drew Pomeranz SD - SP,RP
RP - Ryan Pressly Hou - RP
Bench - Zach Davies SD - SP

If you want me to look at your team, post the team. Don't post a link to another site where the team is.
Have you given me all the info I need to judge your team? The number of teams in the league is a good start for the big overall questions.
Is your league H2H? Roto?
I don't know who's on your waivers. Don't just ask me who you should pick up. Give me names to choose from.
If you only have one team, post your team in your signature with the league parameters.
I don't know every single matchup for next week, so if you want me to choose a player for the following week and you think the matchups are important, tell me who they're facing.
There's more than one player with the same last name? Then spell out who you're talking about.
Thanks!

If that doesn't work for team, then I'd go Grisham over JD
