Made it to the Finals. Questions/thoughts on lineup

Who to start, who to bench. Grab that WW guy? Low priced rookie or high priced stud?

Made it to the Finals. Questions/thoughts on lineup

Postby Deltron » Sun Sep 14, 2014 4:21 pm

Great season, made it to the finals.

I'm thinking about using my one playoff add/drop at catcher (currently have W. Ramos).

Pick one catcher:
W. Ramos: 3 @ ATL (E. Santana, Harang, Wood), 4 @ MIA (Hand, Koehler, Cosart, Eovaldi): hits much better against lefties & only faces 2, also hits better at home and he's on the road all week.

D. Navarro: 3 @ BAL (Chen, Jimenez, Norris), 4 @ NYY (Greene, Kuroda, Capuano, Pineda): hot hand, he has been hitting for about a month now.

Rosario: 3 v. LAD (R. Hernandez, Haren, Ryu), 4 v. ARI (Nino, Anderson, Cahill, Miley). All home games. Rosario pounds lefties and faces three of them at home (Ryu, Nino & Miley), but he hasn't done much lately at the plate.

Inclined to go with Navarro.

Pick a OF:
A. Jones: 3 v. TOR (Stroman, Hutchison, Happ), 3 v. BOS (Webster, R. De La Rosa, Kelly): Crushes lefties but only faces one this week, strikes out a lot v. righties.

Blackmon : 3 v. LAD (R. Hernandez, Haren, Ryu), 4 v. ARI (Nino, Anderson, Cahill, Miley). All home games & has great home splits. Blackmon can sit against lefties and Rockies face three.

Pick a U:
Longoria: 3 v. NYY (Capuano, Pineda, McCarthy), 3 v. CHW (Quintana, Carroll, Noesi). He's heating up at the plate. Better against lefties and faces two. Sounds like Arenado was hurt today so I may have to start Longoria at 3B.

A. Gonzalez: 3 @ COL (Bergman, Matzek, J. De La Rosa), 4 @ CHC (Wada, Doubront, Turner, T. Wood). Crushes righties and awful against lefties. He only faces 2 righties all week, unbelievable. Hits better on the road and gets 7 road games.

[plus who ever isn't picked from the OFs, Adam Jones or Blackmon]

Pick a SP:
Kennedy v. PHI, v. SF
Vogelsong @ ARI, @ SD
Liriano v. BOS
Cobb v. NYY

I'm leaning towards Ian Kennedy with two starts at home against just Ok lineups.

Thank you, it has been another great season
12-teamer, H2H, points, 4 keepers.
Hitters: +1 single, +2 dbl, +3 trpl, +4 HR, +1 RBI, +1 run, +1 BB/HBP, -1 K, +2 SB, -1 CS
Pitchers: +1.5 IP, +1 K, -1 BB/HBP, +5 W, -3 L, +4 S, -2 BS, +3 CG, +10 shutout
Start one player at each position + utility, 4 SPs, 2 RPs. 8 reserves.

If you want me to look at your team, post the team. Don't post a link to another site where the team is.
Have you given me all the info I need to judge your team? The number of teams in the league is a good start for the big overall questions.
Is your league H2H? Roto?
I don't know who's on your waivers. Don't just ask me who you should pick up. Give me names to choose from.
If you only have one team, post your team in your signature with the league parameters.
I don't know every single matchup for next week, so if you want me to choose a player for the following week and you think the matchups are important, tell me who they're facing.
There's more than one player with the same last name? Then spell out who you're talking about.
Thanks!
