Keeper League Draft Question

Who to start, who to bench. Grab that WW guy? Low priced rookie or high priced stud?

Keeper League Draft Question

Postby drob » Mon Feb 21, 2011 2:24 pm

So I can't help but notice that Yahoo has added some serious prospects to their player lists this year: Namely, Bryce Harper, Julio Teheran, Mike Trout, Mike Moustakas, etc...I already have a powerhouse team, but I'm wondering if I should pursue any of these guys with my draft picks this year?

League Settings: 12 keepers that can be kept as long as they're on your roster at the end of the season. League Categories: H,R,HR,RBI,AVG,SLG,OBP,SB W,K,K/9,K/BB,QS,SV,ERA,WHIP
My current keepers:

C-Wieters
1B-Miggy
2B-Kinsler
3B-Wright
SS-Reyes
OF-Braun
OF-Bruce
UTIL-Adrian Gonzalez
SP-Lincecum
SP-Wainwright
SP-Lee
SP-Sabathia

Now, obviously I'm set for the forseeable future with those guys, but some of those big name guys are a few years away. Do I draft them and try to trade them away later in the year or just let them go by (which seems stupid...) and go after guys like J. Bay Carlos Lee Vad Vazquez, Marcum, Hughes, wandy and Danks in the draft?

Depends on what kind of roster flexibility you have but I think that Trout, Teheran, and Harper are at least a year away from the bigs. If roster spots are limited you may want to let them pass. But if you do target one of them, I would go for Trout.

Moustakas might be up this year, you could target him if roster space is limited.
