Re: Papelbon for Capps

Thanks.

I certainly would not be keeping him next year. This would be more of a "trade deadline rental," I guess...

As a rule, I don't even start looking at closers until the 10+ rounds.

Anyone else want to chime in?

Re: Papelbon for Capps

We keep six, at a cost of two rounds, based on the previous year's draft results. In this case, Papelbon was drafted in the 5th round and would cost me my 3rd round pick in 2014.

We only get to keep players for three seasons, then we have to put them back in the pool.

Papelbon for Capps

12-Team 7x7 H2H I've just been offered: His Papelbon + 24th round pick next year for My Carter Capps + 6th round pick next year I'm currently in second place, 3.5 games back, he is in 10th place 30 games out. The team offering the trade to me is in a rebuilding phase, so this is obviously a play for...

Re: Drafted last night. Thoughts/advice welcomed.

Thanks Mauddib.

I have been able to cobble my pitching together before off the waiver wire, so here's hoping for continued success on that front.

Drafted last night. Thoughts/advice welcomed.

Well, I had my Yahoo draft last night. Just wondering if I could get some input on how I made out. Razzball3000 indicates my offense looks good, but my pitching is a little weak (especially in saves). It's a 12-team 7x7 h2h league (we score both saves and holds). My keepers are noted with "(k)". Her...

Re: Punt saves?

That's an interesting idea. My league counts SV and HLD, but not QS SHo, or CG, so this may not actually apply to your situation. Regardless, I decided to totally ignore closers and drafted five middle relievers for holds. Here's how it worked out: I finished second in HLDs by 4, but only because so...

Re: Weaver for Kemp or JUpton?

Upton. Weaver's been lucky the last couple years. His peripherals have been in decline year-over-year for three years. I'd be afraid of the wheels coming off this season. If you can get Upton for him, I'd take it. That said, I've been saying the same thing about Hellickson for years and every year h...

Re: Know what I hate...

Totally agree. I'm also not a big fan of people who think sheer number of players offered equates to "big value" in a trade. Just because I have Greinke and you want him, don't offer me your worst 3-4 players and get offended when I decline the trade because, like, you're offering me four players fo...

Re: Keeper help

I'll second Aoki over Altuve. Not only did Altuve slide in the second half, he's got minimal (if any) supporting cast. I think it's great he can hit and get on base, but if no one can drive him in, I think that really limits his scoring ability leaving him with BA, OPS, and SB. Since your league sco...

Re: Rate my staff...so far

I'd be concerned about JJ and Ogando. JJ is the definition of fragile and moving into the AL East from the National League. That said, if he can stay healthy and make adjustment for the DH, he certainly has the stuff to have a really productive year. I worry about Ogando only because (a) he declined...
