Re: Just drafted - RCL #8
Yeah, I took a little more risk than I would've liked, but I felt like I needed to draft a few first basemen and hope that one stays healthy (Davis, Morales) or breaks out (Gamel). Ramirez was the last decent SS option on the board in rd. 13 (guys like Gordon, Bonifacio, Jeter, and Aybar were gone),...

Just drafted - RCL #8
RCL #8 (Joe C's league) just drafted yesterday. Here's my team (#5 draft slot): 1. (5) Matt Kemp OF 2. (20) Ian Kinsler 2B 3. (29) Adrian Beltre 3B 4. (44) Jered Weaver SP 5. (53) Nelson Cruz OF 6. (68) Matt Cain SP 7. (77) Chase Utley 2B (MI) 8. (92) Shin-Soo Choo OF 9. (101) Yu Darvish SP 10. (116...

Re: Rate my mock draft
Also, forgot to mention, in that rd. 14-19 range grab two closers so you're not chasing saves at the end. Burnett shouldn't be drafted in 10-team leagues either (or probably 12 for that matter).

Re: Rate my mock draft
You're definitely light on power. First four picks are fine, but instead of Haren, go Bruce, Zimmerman, or Cruz (one should be there at pick #41). It looks like a one catcher league, so McCann isn't the best choice in the 7th - someone like Lawrie, Phillips, Utley, Zobrist, Morse, etc. would be bett...

Re: Mock Draft RCL-style
I've done a lot of mocks so far, and this is the first time that Grandy's fallen to pick #30. I'm not too big on him, but I felt that the value was too good at that point. I'd be a little nervous that my first three picks could all hit under .270 (if McCutchen had another bad-luck year), but Choo an...

Re: Teams that will play above expectations this year:
I see the West as a three team race as well, but I still see the Rockies as the only "under the radar" team there. I don't think that the D-backs or Giants are underrated, but the Rockies are. That's the only point that I am trying to make. But it does make for a fun discussion.

Re: Teams that will play above expectations this year:
Not sure if I submitted that last post correctly, but I basically wanted to say that while I agree that Arizona is the best team in the West on paper, I was just pointing out that the Rockies could contend for the division title, and no one seems to recognize that (or so I thought). It depends what ...

Re: Teams that will play above expectations this year:
I'll agree with everyone that the Rockies have a chance and that they should be a good team, but I think that Arizona is a little bit better and is going to win the West again. If you look at both rosters: OF1 J. Upton = Cargo OF2 Krispie Young = Cuddyer, but Krispie has more upside OF3 Kubel > Fow...

Re: Teams that will play above expectations this year:
I like the Rockies this year. Nobody is talking about them at all, but I like the moves they've made this offseason. They have two of the best players in the game, Cuddyer gives them another solid middle-of-the-order bat, and Fowler looks like he could take a step forward this year. If Helton, Scuta...
