Re: Ogando
You're right. His ERA should eventually go up, but until that happens you have no reason to believe that it will in his next start. Never walk away from the table while you're on a heater.

Re: Justin Upton
For Longo that's a bit of a different story, but Gallardo is probably only going to get better and Upton could really pick it up soon. It seems like he's also your best outfielder in what I would consider a weak outfield. You may be creating another weakness out of this trade. If you can pick someon...

Jose Bautista Trade
I give David Wright and Jered Weaver. I get Jose Bautista, Eric Hosmer, and Brett Anderson.
Who wins that trade? Do I need to do it?

David Wright
Concerned? I am. The only reassuring thing I see is that his BABIP is 60 or 70 points higher than his current average, and he was on fire to start the season. The Ks I can live with as long as he's keeping a 1:2 BB/KO ratio, but still, he has neck concerns, is mired in a horrible slump, and is just ...

In Trouble
My team could not fail me in worse ways. My hitting is almost non-existent, and given the guys I have, that should not be the case. My pitching has been good, but unfortunately my two relief pitchers (Jordan Walden, and John Axford) have combined to make sure I get a heart attack 6 years earlier tha...

Re: Heyward and Bruce
The line on Bruce having a .245 average to end the year is pessimistic. This is a guy who broke out last year and hit .280. His LD% is at an abnormally low 7.3%, which is very low for even an average hitter. During his first three years in the league, Bruce maintained a 21.1%, 13%, and 20% line driv...

Re: Domonic Brown or Hosmer
Fair point, but Manuel expressed his desire to see Domonic on the major league roster today.Dominic is on a better team (or will be, when he's called up), but Charlie Manuel is all kinds of stupid.
Hosmer got a home run tonight, so by the law of small sample sizes, you should grab Hosmer asap.

Re: Soto Down, Need to shop at V-Mart
I guess I could also trade a pitcher as well.

Just realized this probably belongs in the trades thread. Apologize about that.

Re: Domonic Brown or Hosmer
Hosmer has come up and hit well. People seem to rave about him in a way that they don't for Domonic.
I'd say Hosmer for now, but we'll see what happens when Brown gets called up.
