Re: Uggla - cut my losses?

He has zero homers thus far in August, which makes sense since has has zero homers since July 8th, although his slugging is north of .400 in August, which is a nice change of pace. If you picked up Chase Utley for the second half, you're already a million dollars richer (figuratively) than if you s...

Re: Jay Bruce - Overrated?

Oh, I agree there, he's done nothing to justify how high he was taken by pretty much everyone, including me... I just don't think he can be placed on the same level as guys that will be fading when he has nowhere to go but up... But would I rather have Kubel the rest of this season? Definitely yes.

Re: Jay Bruce - Overrated?

Re: Uggla - cut my losses?

It's not probable, but it's certainly possible. I don't see how it can be definitively ruled out when he hit 16 HRs in August and September last year. Power guys have the ability to get hot and go on massive home run binges. It wouldn't be out of the question for Uggla to do it again. Uggla is hitti...

Re: Uggla - cut my losses?

I'd give him another week or two before cutting him... Despite his terrible year he is still top five among second basemen in runs and home runs and he is sixth in RBI.
If you cut him now and he hits .270 the rest of the way with 12 HRs and 30 RBI/runs you're going to be upset with yourself.

Re: Rios/Walker for Holliday/Beer

At least get some absinthe out of him. Then every trade will seem awesome!

Re: Trout trade

No problem! The two questions that I think are vital before completing any trade are:

What are my team's specific needs?
How does this trade fulfill those needs?

I think your team is pretty good as is... Unless you could get Braun!

Re: Pittsburgh Pirates Rotation

Correia was pissed when the Pirates got Wandy because he didn't want to pitch in the bullpen, he wants to be a starter. I'm guessing this is the Pirates' solution unless they can get a waiver trade going.

Re: Holy HGH...

As Bonds was my favorite player from the time I was old enough to understand baseball in the early 90's until he retired, I feel compelled to mention that Bonds never failed a drug test! He does look pretty fit, though. If an AL team had signed him as a DH I bet he'd still be able to play. In fact, ...
