Re: Medlen

When John Smoltz and Chipper Jones are saying a guy reminds them a lot of Greg Maddux you pretty much have to listen to them. Here's what John Smoltz said about Medlen: "He's the closest thing I've seen to Greg Maddux, with a few more miles per hour on his fastball," Smoltz said. "If you look at a y...

Re: Bossman Junior

I'm excited about the Uptons in Atlanta this year... I agree that BJ is poised to have his career best year this season. He's in his prime years, his power is obviously trending towards his peak years, he gets out of a Tampa Bay market where the Rays aren't exactly filling the stands (30th in attend...

Re: juan francisco

He's most likely going to platoon early on if the Braves don't add anybody else via trade or FA signing. It's looking like a crazy blahtoon involving Prado and Francisco at 3B and Prado/Reed Johnson/ maybe Evan Gattis in the outfield with Prado playing almost every day and everyone else getting work...

Re: Hamilton to Angles

The Angles got Hamilton? Wow, once they team up with the Saxons I feel bad for the countries that they invade. All Hamilton needs is a few chasms underneath stadium rails and he'll be a great warrior.

Yeah, let's figure out what caused that so we know where to click next time!

Uh, where not to click I mean. I think.

Re: How to retard fire sales in keeper leagues?

Yeah, I'm good HS friends with the Commish from my main keeper league. When things get bad, I always remind him I'm merely bitching to him because he and I think similarly in terms of fantasy sports and the idea of value and not because I want him to fix things as the Commish. It's a tough job, hav...

Re: How to retard fire sales in keeper leagues?

Yeah, one of those situations where I wish I had a great suggestion but the reality is 'hope everyone keeps a nominal sense of decency in thinking about what they're doing not just for their team but for the league.' And if not, F THIS LEAGUE, I'M OUTTA HERE...I keed. Hope it doesn't get crazy on y...

Re: How to retard fire sales in keeper leagues?

Thanks Sky, that's about as good as advice as I could hope for. Thankfully nobody is completely pissed off or livid or anything right now, a few managers are just starting to get irritated and I can see the animosity growing over the off-season if it isn't at least partially addressed now. The argum...

How to retard fire sales in keeper leagues?

In the title I'm using retard in its original meaning of slowing down, of course. How can fire sells be discouraged fairly and reasonably? In our keeper league we keep three players one round ahead of where they were drafted the year before for a maximum of three years. This year, for whatever reaso...

Re: Infield Fly Rule Was Right Call

Yeah, some calls it's just best to go ahead and get them out of the way instead of waiting... Waiting that long just makes it look like you aren't sure about the call when you make it.
He could have at least Jim Joyce'd it and be wrong early and cry about it after... It'd be harder to be mad then!
