Re: Screwing the field?

It's a pretty competitive league. There are 5-6 owners who are really sharp and another 3-4 who are ok. Of course, I've finished 1st, 2nd and 2nd in the last three years, so maybe it isn't as competitive as I think. In a really competitive league, this tactic would be less effective, though, becaus...

Re: Screwing the field?

Usually Alyssa Milano is the one screwing the field. I wish I was the field :'( Yeah, she completely skipped me. No idea what's up with that. She does have a bit of arm hair. But I am indulgent, since the rest is pretty much perfection (the loving baseball part is a huge bonus... girl even wrote a ...

Re: RCL Drafts

The first game of the season is March 28 at 6:10 AM ET (yes, 6 in the morning), so all drafts should be scheduled for March 27 or earlier. Yeah, MLB really screwed the pooch with the schedule this year. Games on Wednesday and Thursday IN JAPAN, then we have to wait a week until next Wednesday to se...

Winter's Bone is really, really good

The movie, not the act! :) And no, it's not a porno. The funny thing is, I *know* the people in the movie. Not the actual people themselves, of course, but people like that. It's amazing the path of destruction that methamphetamines has carved through the American landscape. It's no joke at all. Thi...

Re: Not playing RCL this year

Yeah, dude... what's up with that? Not that I'm complainin'... I'm glad you're not in my league! :) As to advice, I personally think you should keep that to yourself and let everyone figure it out on their own. Looking at game guides can get you through a game quicker, but you hardly feel a sense of...

Re: Chone Figgins leading off this year for Seattle

Praying for this and a trade that puts Eric Young Jr. in the front of the Mariner's lineup.
Pffft! That just makes WAAAAY too much sense to ever happen.

Re: teix or d wright?

Wright. The only thing that might make it a question is Wright's more extensive injury history, but the guy has put up 500 at-bats every year of his career except his rookie year and last year. Assuming you get something close to Wright's 2010, you will wonder how you ever allowed yourself to even c...

Re: Maybe the exception is in a points league....

I am new to a 14 team points league. I noticed based on the chosen categories that the top 25 pitchers are much more valuable than batters (for example top pitcher worth 956 and top batter 656. At the 25th position for each the pitcher is 573 and the batter 474. It begins to even our around the 50t...

Re: Drafting pitchers early!

In a 12 team league, when is the best round to take your first starting pitcher? I've been taking one about the 6th or 7th round. It depends. Grey has a good post on pitcher draft pairings that answers this question (http://razzball.com/2012-fantasy-baseball-draft-prep-pitchers-pairings/). You don'...

Re: Drafting pitchers early!

Wow, doing that in an RCL is really brave... If I ever actually try it, it's going to be in a standard Yahoo! public league where half the managers check out by August. It'd be more to have fun than to actually expect to win, though. Pitching heavy teams aren't built for winning in fantasy. Then I ...
