Last week around the Razzball water cooler, Sky was like, “you should be my creeper of the week.”  Boy does he wish he took that back.  I rolled up about 5 driveways down from his house at 13(redacted)5 (redacted)field Lane, (redacted)town, (redacted) in my 1985 maroon Chevy Astro and grew a Derek Holland/Tyler Skaggs-esque-stache until the moment was ripe.  While he may have you think he’s working on some awesome content over there at Razzball Football, I actually hired a look alike off Craigslist to post his work.  I mean, look at how fuzzy his picture is, I could get anyone from Channing Tatum to The Elephant Man to Tehol.  Trust me, that’s not the only thing Tehol advertises as “his services” on Craigslist.

So whilst Sky “sleeps” in the ambiance of 5-day old living refuse and a lava lamp, I hijacked his piece for this wondrous Sunday to talk a Brewers player near and dear to my heart.  After an immediate 2-8 low, then 9-game win streak high, then a terrible stretch since then until this weekend, my Brewers have taken me on a wilder emotional roller coaster ride than It Could Happen To You.  I’m sitting there the whole time thinking, “I hope being married to Rosie Perez doesn’t happen to me!”

Pretty much the sole reason the Crew were able to beat the Phillies on Phriday night was Joanthan Lucroy‘s resurgent 5-5 2 homer 4 ribbie breakout followed up by going 2-4 with another solo shot yesterday afternoon.  It ended up being the pivotal run as K-Rod and the umpires both tried to hand it back to the Phillies.  Take that Tim Donaghy!  It looks like both the Brewers (let’s hope, but probably not) and Jonathan Lucroy (definitely) are back.

With his average now at .259 with 6 homers and 25 RBIs, Lucroy has vaulted himself to the #12 ranked catcher in both ESPN and Yahoo.  Yeah he doesn’t score enough runs, thanks to Yuniesky “I’m only going to be fantasy relevant when I’m a 2-week superstar” Betancourt  and a hodgepodge (not  HodgePadres – but I would take Jason Marquis over Rickie Weeks with a bat right now) of either Alex Gonzalez, Weeks, Jeff Bianchi, or AAA players hitting behind him, it’s going to deflate your R column.  As does consent.  Poor taste?  Sky mumbles “no,” but I’m not sure if he was answering that question.

With a full 7 days at hitter/beer-drinker-friendly Miller Park this upcoming week where the hot Lucroy has hit 21 career HRs vs. 14 on the road (and remember that includes the 3 in Philly over the weekend), I think he can continue his slugging ways.  He’ll get interleague pitchers in Tommy Milone, A.J. Griffin and Bartolo Colon without the advantage of power-sapping Oakland, before those very same Phillies return to Milwaukee with that same Mike Adams (who Lucroy hit two of those homers against this weekend) in the bullpen.  It looks like Lucroy has a great shot at keeping it up.

So I leave it to you, Razzball Nation, to pick up Lucroy where appropriate and cheer during the sausage race all next week.  Sky will wake up tomorrow morning with a fuzzy memory of his weekend and slightly slurred speech, and I will shave off my psuedo-mustache and return to Pitcher Profile and Draft Kings writing for next week.  Sky will return to his normal routine as well with his writing chair just a shade less comfortable for some reason.
